Where to Start and your " WHY "
The first thing I believe anybody should start isn't in a gym or buying all sorts of products, but rather in your head where the person can truly develop the motivation and commitment. Your "mindset" is key to success in weight training no matter what anybody else say's. If your mind is saying you can't pump that extra rep then you truly won't and you will give up. But if you really believe that you can take that extra rep and put your body not only physically but mentally, then you will overcome that mindset factor and push yourself beyond your limits.
A very good question that everybody needs to ask themselves is this, " why should I weight train?". To be completely honest I got into weight training due to girls and just plain old wanting to be in " better shape". People's reasons to weight train are going to range from a whole array of difference's and thats completely ok. But, the only person who should be thinking of this " why?" should be YOU and YOU only. So take a moment and really think of your "why?" and possibly the benefit's of weight training.

- If you're not familiar with the basic principles of strength training, Weight Training 101 is your starting point for learning about the rules and guidelines for lifting weights.
- Start with a program that works all muscle groups 1-3 non-consecutive days a week.
- Warm up with 5-10 minutes of light cardio or with warm up sets of each exercise using a light-medium weight.
- Choose 1-2 exercises for each muscle group (see below) and do 1-2 sets of 8-16 repetitions of each exercise. As a beginner, you may want to start with about 15-16 reps until you feel comfortable with the moves and build some strength. After that, you can add more weight and reduce your reps for a different challenge.
- If you exercise in a gym, you may want to start with machines so you have more stabilization for the movements.
